This year has seen the scheme expand with both Catsfield and Mountfield & Whatlington coming onboard. Both the club and Head Coach, Kevin Haffenden, are keen to expand the scheme into more schools in the Battle Robertsbridge area in the coming year. The expansion into the smaller rural schools shows that table tennis is ideal where limited sporting facilities are available, something experienced by many small rural schools. The scheme also allows young leaders to gain experience and work towards awards. Currently 2 young people from the club assist, Matt Nixon who has just completed his Community Sports Leaders Award (CLSA) and aims to work toward becoming a qualifed coach, and Chris Stern who is undertaking the Junior Sports Leaders Award (JSLA) and is part of Claverham Community Colleges' Gifted & Talented programme.

The club is working in partnership with Claverham Community Sports College to expand opportunities in local schools. They are keen to hear form any school that would be interested in joining the scheme in September even if there are no tables available, as the club can assist with the loan of equipment. The club can be contacted via Bronwen Lowery at Claverham or directly via email at info@battlettc.com
